Doctors & Staff

Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Mason Family Eye Care the leading provider of vision care products and services in Mason.

Dr. Glen Linsley

Dr. Glen Linsley received his Doctor of Optometry from Ohio State University and established his private practice in Mason in
1976. He is a long-time Associate Clinical Professor with the Michigan College of Optometry and spends two days a week supervising fourth-year optometry students at the Duane Waters Hospital at the Jackson Correctional Facility. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the American Optometric Association, and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists.
Dr. Linsley is married and has six children with his wife, Donna. Dr. Linsley is an avid runner who has completed four marathons including the 2009 Boston Marathon. He enjoys camping, staying involved in his home church, reading historical fiction, watching college football, and attempting to keep an eye on his very large family!

Dr. Chad Linsley

As Dr. Glen’s eldest son, Dr. Chad Linsley was exposed to optometry at an early age and spent many childhood years roaming his father’s practice. He spent several years of high school working in the practice dispensing glasses and performing general office work. Throughout college he spent his breaks at the office performing pre-testing and helping in the dispensary.

Dr. Chad received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2010. Dr. Linsley’s extern training included Eyecare Associates of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, the Pawnee Indian Health Service near Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the Dwayne Waters Hospital in Jackson, Michigan.

As an optometrist, Dr. Chad has an acute interest in third-world eye-care and has participated in short-term humanitarian trips to Haiti, Guatemala, Peru, Kenya, and Costa Rica. He is driven by his belief that there are few situations in which Mason Family Eye Care can not improve visual function or ocular comfort.

When Dr. Chad is not at the office, he enjoys running, reading, landscaping, and spending time with his wife, Felicia. Next time you’re in for an exam, you might ask him about the joy of shopping at Aldi.

Ed Linsley, Optician

Mason Family Eye Care is the home to “Mr. Ed”, Mason’s well-established optical wizard! Whether it’s frame selection, eyeglass adjustments, nose-pad replacement or even repairs, your glasses are safest in Ed’s hands. He has 40 years of experience with the practice and performs his work with professionalism and honesty.

Ed has been married to his wife Linda for 45 years and has three children and three grandchildren.

In his free time, Ed enjoys reading, chopping wood, and movies. In recent years, he has also taken up acting as an extra on the silver screen (including the films “Real Steel” and “Oz: The Great and Powerful”.) You can look for Ed on the big screen or come in to our office to see the optical skills that make members of our community treat him like a celebrity!

Lisa Rizzardi, Scribe

Lisa approaches her duties as Dr. Chad’s scribe with courtesy and professionalism. In her time at Mason Family Eye Care, she has become a skilled in almost every position at the practice. Her steady countenance and attention to detail have made her an invaluable member of our Mason Family Eye Care family.

As one our office’s several animal enthusiasts, it won’t surprise you to see Lisa out for a run with her dog Gus. She is also an avid reader and crafting enthusiast. While quiet and reserved, Lisa may just talk your ear off if you ask her about Gus or the latest JK Rowling  novel.

Karen Egelkraut, Front Desk/Technician

Whether working at the front desk or doing preliminary testing for patients, Karen brings her lively personality and unique sense of humor to all of her duties. During her time at Mason Family Eye Care, Karen has enjoyed learning about the structure of the eye and diseases that affect the eye. Karen is passionate about using “your” and “you’re” correctly, but don’t let her grammatical correctness scare you in testing room; she enjoys interacting with patients and helping them understand the tests she is performing.

Karen enjoys running, photography, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.

Sarah Linsley, Optician

Sarah is the daughter of our world-famous optician Ed Linsley and has been with us for 5 years! She enjoys working with her family and providing a service that benefits the community. Sarah is passionate about developing strong relationships, staying positive, and encouraging happiness in others. Along with working in optical and ordering glasses, you’ll find her at front desk scheduling appointments and checking patients in and out of their appointments.

Denise Townsend, Front Desk

Denise helps us keep up with the many appointments, questions, and paperwork that cross the front desk. She is eager to help people pick out glasses and embraces the opportunity to do something as important as helping peoples’ eyesight. Denise likes working with a staff that is full of good, caring, and hard working people where she feels like part of the family.

If Denise isn’t helping you set up your next appointment, she enjoys hanging out with her husband Jeff, her family, her grandkids, and her doggie Elson. She enjoys running, walking, riding her bike, and working in her flower bed. Summer and fall seasons are the best!

Brett Linsley, Practice Manager

Dr. Glen’s second son and Dr. Chad’s younger brother, Brett joined the family practice in June 2015. His goal is to coordinate the many facets of the practice into a single patient experience that is easy and enjoyable from the moment you set up your appointment to the moment you leave with new eyewear.

If Brett isn’t shuffling papers or fixing computers, he is probably enjoying an ice cream cone with his wife Lisa or working on a new episode of his podcast.
